The 75th anniversary of victory in Europe
This contest celebrates the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe, also known as V-E Day. Students from across Alberta in Grades 10-12 are invited to develop and deliver a speech that honours this important moment in our history.
The Spirit of Victory
The goal of this contest is to build an awareness of, and appreciation for, the experience of the Second World War and what it means for Albertans today. It will help teach students to understand the freedoms they are so fortunate to have in this country are owed to the brave Canadian heroes who fought for them.
The SPIRIT of Victory is an initiative of the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta through the History and Heroes Foundation.
